Castor & Ailsworth vs Isham Sunday XI - 2nd July 2006
A fifth win for the Isham Sunday XI means that the team continue to rise up the table and close the
gap on leaders Loddington. But it wasn’t a straight forward victory and it took two solid performances
from the Chudley brothers to see Isham home against Castor and Ailsworth.
Will Chudley ripped
through the Castor batting taking 5 wickets for 33 runs.
And a crucial 41 not out
from skipper George
saw the team over the line to take 17 points.
Mention must also go to James Bilson who not only took a crucial 6th wicket for a 3rd bowling point,
but also made a stunning one-handed catch in the covers.
Greg Evans also put in a fine performance
with the bat scoring 83 runs which helped build the platform for an Isham win.
Next week the team are at home against East Carlton. This is the first meeting between the sides
since Stephan Myburgh smashed 219 not out. No pressure on Juan Harker then!
