Isham Sunday XI vs Histon - 27th August 2006 A poor batting display after some exceptional performances in the field cost Isham’s Sunday XI any chance of promotion this season in the Rutland League. Opponents Histon CC, gained the points they required to ensure promotion from Division 5 in their first attempt. Fielding first, Isham grafted in the field and reaped the rewards, restricting Histon to 158 for 9 off 45 overs - Will Chudley taking a deserved five wickets whilst Kalvin Lodder and Dave Hobbs managed 2 wickets a piece. But in reply Isham fell short by 25 runs despite further heroics from Will Chudley (52). At one point Isham were cruising at 102 for 2 after just 20 overs, but stupid shot selection resulted in wickets falling at regular intervals and the last 8 wickets managing a meagre 31 runs as Isham were bowled out for 133. Isham travel to Oakham for their final league match of the season with third position still available.
