Isham 1st XI v Kettering Town 1st XI - 2nd September 2006
Isham 1st XI almost pulled off a sensational win over Kettering Town on Saturday. However the
efforts of both Nilesh Patel and Juan Harker were not quite enough, despite both bowlers finishing
with 4 wickets a piece.
Batting first Isham posted a healthy 223 runs from their 50 overs – Tim Robinson top scoring with a
deserved 50, and useful innings from Andy Reynoldson (33), Juan Harker (33), Jack Chopping (27)
and Nilesh Patel (24).
The tough total didn’t daunt Kettering initially as both openers made runs. But the introduction of
Juan Harker to the bowling attack allowed for a flurry of wickets and victory looked more than
possible. But the final wicket eluded Isham as stubborn defence from Pete Bevan and Aled David
prevented the home side from winning.
