Weekley & Warkton vs Isham Sunday XI - 14th May 2006
Isham continued their superb form in the Rutland League with a comprehensive win away to local
rivals Weekley & Warkton. One a damp and cold day, Weekley won the toss and decided to bat
first. The opening pair of Brad Davidson and Jacob Palmer resisted the initial attack of N. Patel and
J. Harker and put together a decent opening partnership of 75. But the introduction of both
P. Short and A. Reynoldson made the break through as Weekley's middle order capitulated. Andy
was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets for 24, whilst Shorty was very economical during his
spell - 2 wickets for 16. There was also a wicket for skipper G. Chudley as Isham managed to contain
the home side to just 150 for 8 from the allotted 45 overs.
In reply, Isham set about the total with relative ease. Mark Bolar impressed with the bat scoring a
decent 31 before being trapped LBW by R. Griggs. Whilst at the other end, J. Harker set about
destroying the Weekley bowling and ended the match unbeaten on 91.
