Old Northamptonians 2nd XI vs Isham 1st XI - 9th September 2006
Isham’s 1st XI were edged out in a close game away to Old Northamptonian’s 2nd XI. Posting a decent
score of 217 from their 17 overs, Isham would have been confident of gaining big points from the
afternoon. Will Chudley top scored with 50, and there were also contributions from Andy Reynoldson
(28), Tim Robinson (26) and Jim Lyon (29).
In reply, the home side showed signs of struggling to make the target, losing two wickets early on.
Charles Swallow was caught and bowled by Nilesh Patel, and James Mellor edging a Juan Harker
delivery to Andy Reynoldson. Andy’s debut behind the stumps got better as the afternoon went on,
taking another catch off Nilesh Patel, and a lightening stumping from the bowling of Will Chudley.
But a controlled 58 from Mike Bristow and contributions from the lower order saw Old Northamptonians
over the line with 2 wickets in hand.
