Isham 1st XI vs Wellingborough Indians - 21st April 2007
Once again Isham’s 1st XI were unable to start a league campaign with a win, after losing by 101
runs at home to Wellingborough Indians. Fielding first, Isham began in fine style with Andy Law taking
early wickets and left the visitors in trouble at 0-2. But Indians’s overseas Prashant Joshi (116) smashed
the Isham bowling to all parts of the ground and with partner Anand Panchal put on a 4th wicket
partnership of 162. The Indian’s finished on 239 for 4.
Facing a daunting total and with a weakened batting attack, Isham never really were up for the chase
as wickets fell at regular intervals. Brothers Chudley put up some resistance Will with 24 and George
top scoring with 25. But with the last 6 batsmen only scoring 47 between them, Isham struggled to
gain the one batting point! The 1st XI all out for 138.
The team now have a tough away journey to Brixworth this Saturday. |
