Isham Sunday XI vs Old Westheathians CC - 22nd April 2007
It took two rising stars to take Isham over the finishing line on Sunday, as Sunil Sukhdeo and Alex
Brown put on a 7th wicket partnership of 57 to beat Old Westheathians CC. But at 90 for 6, the visitors
from the West Midlands had Isham in trouble with George Chudley (26), the only person to make any
impact with the bat. But the two under 17 players saw Isham past the moderate target of 147 with a
flurry of boundaries near the end of the innings as their confidence grew.
Earlier on Paul Eaton, Alex Brown and Peter Short took two wickets a piece as the visitors were
restricted to 146 from their 40 overs. Sunday XI debutante Chris Perkins has a game to remember
behind the stumps with 3 stumpings, 2 catches and a run out to his name.
The Sunday XI now look forward to their opening Rutland league fixture at home to Great Oakley
next Sunday – 1pm start. |
