Isham 1st XI vs Wollaston - 12th May 2007
The 1st XI couldn’t repeat their heroics of last season and hold out for the draw against Wollaston as they lost by 57 runs. Another fine knock from Ben Reid (74) and 4 wickets from skipper Shaun Wills wasn’t enough as the rest of Isham’s men failed to stand up the to plate.
Fielding first, Isham would have gone in for tea happy with their afternoon’s work, bowling the visitors out for 200. Will Chudley taking 3 wickets along with the skipper’s haul. Chris Perkins making his second appearance in the 1st XI had a good game taking a catch and also running out Steve Musgrave.
The run chase also started off will, with Gareth Eaton and Ben Reid putting on 43 for the first wicket. Gareth fell for 22 and despite a cameo appearance from Will Chudley, the rest of the Isham batting failed to reach double figures. The final 3 wickets tried hard to bat out the last 18 overs, but Chris Perry and Steve Musgrave were on the spot throughout the innings. Chris Perry taking five wickets in total – his 4th ever five wicket haul in division 1. Isham were finally all out for 143, falling well short of Wollaston’s average score.
