Isham 1st XI vs Mears Ashby - 17th July 2007
Isham eased through to the next round of the Sportsframe Twenty20 Plate and will now face Raunds Town away. Mears Ashby who are top of the NCL Division 12, had no answers against an Isham side who batted, bowled and fielded proficiently for the entire match.
Batting first, Isham lost just one wicket during the innings – Tim Robinson playing at a ball 4 feet outside his off stump! The resulting catch was calmly taken at mid on. But controlled batting from both Kalvin Lodder (71) Andy Reynoldson (66*) sent Isham racing to 185 from the 20 overs.
The star of the bowling was skipper Shaun Wills, who picked up a wicket in every over he bowled, and ended with very respectable figures of 4 – 1 – 9 – 4. Andy Reynoldson claimed two more Mears Ashby wickets, whilst Richard Reynolds and Peter Short also picked up a wicket each. Mears Ashby were well off the pace, managing just 91 from their 20 overs.
