Isham Sunday XI vs Weekley & Warkton - 16th July 2006
Wishing to seek revenge against Weekley from the day before, the Sunday XI did their chances of
promotion no harm with another win, and another 20 points.
Fielding first, Isham’s luck was drying up quickly with edges flying to the boundary and decisions not
going their way. Despite this, Nilesh Patel made the breakthrough, removing opener Jacob Palmer
and the wickets continued to fall at regular intervals. The only thorn in Isham’s side was Brad
Davidson who
like the day before, top scored with 78 before he was clean bowled again by Nilesh,
who ended up with
4 wickets for 25. Weekley were bowled out in the last over, for 204 runs
In reply, Nilesh and Juan Harker opened the innings in fine style – our overseas took a liking to the
Weekley bowling smashing his 50 in the first 9 overs. Fingers crossed he’s in the same ruthless form
for the Board20 game against Loddington. Juan finally holed out to the bowling of Kevin Griggs for 72,
bringing Kalvin Lodder to the crease. Both he and Nilseh hit their half centuries taking Isham past the
winning post.
